The following data is stored on your device only and is not accessible to NeuralCalm staff:

Breathing exercise sessions and history
Grounding exercise usage
Mood check-ins and journal entries
Assessment scores (GAD-7, PHQ-9, etc.)
Luna AI conversation history
SOS activation history
Achievement progress
Safety plan details

Anonymized Aggregate Data

To improve NeuralCalm, we collect anonymized aggregate statistics such as:

Which breathing techniques are most effective (overall, not per-user)
Average improvement in assessment scores across all users
Feature usage patterns (e.g., "73% of users complete the 4-7-8 exercise")
App stability metrics and crash reports

This data cannot be traced back to any individual user.

2. What We Don't Do

✕View individual user mental health data, breathing sessions, or assessment scores
✕Sell, share, or trade your data with third parties for advertising
✕Use your personal data to train AI models
✕Track your precise location or access your contacts
✕Require an account to use crisis intervention tools
✕Display targeted ads based on your mental health status
✕Share your data with your employer, insurer, or government agencies

3. Admin Access Policy

NeuralCalm administrative staff can access:

Your email address (for account support)
Subscription status (for billing support)
Account creation and last active dates

NeuralCalm administrative staff cannot access:

Your breathing session history or frequency
Your mood check-ins or journal entries
Your assessment scores (GAD-7, PHQ-9, etc.)
Your Luna AI conversations
Your SOS activation history
Your safety plan or emergency contacts

4. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access - Export all your data at any time via Settings → Data & Privacy → Export Data
Delete - Delete all your data at any time via Settings → Data & Privacy → Clear All Data
Portability - Your exported data is in standard JSON format
Withdraw Consent - You may stop using the app at any time

These rights are provided regardless of your location. We comply with CCPA, Washington My Health My Data Act, and similar privacy laws.

5. Data Security

We protect your data with:

AES-256 encryption for data at rest
TLS 1.3 encryption for data in transit
Secure password hashing (bcrypt)
Regular security audits
Access logging for administrative actions

6. Data Retention

Your local usage data (breathing sessions, mood logs, etc.) is stored on your device until you delete it. Account information is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Offline Capability

NeuralCalm is designed to work offline for crisis situations. All therapeutic tools (breathing exercises, grounding techniques, SOS mode) function without an internet connection. Luna AI uses local pattern-matching for basic support when offline.

8. Children's Privacy

NeuralCalm is available to users 13 and older. We provide age-appropriate content based on the age cohort selected during account setup. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via email or in-app notification. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised.
